It’s your birth right

There is a saying when you are hungry you will eat anything. Even people turn into hot dogs and chicken (LOL). When starving for food you will go to extreme lengths for that natural craving for food. How far would you go to get food if you are starving? If you weren’t starving your friends wouldn’t look like food but that is when satan comes to attack.

Genesis 25:29-33 says:
Now Jacob cooked a stew; and Esau came in from the wilderness, and he was weary. And Esau said to Jacob” Please feed me with the same red stew, for I am weary.” Therefore his name was called Edom. But Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright as of this day.” And Esau said, Look, I am about to die, so what is this birthright to me? Then Jacob said,”Swear to me as of this day. “So he swore to him, and sold his birthright to Jacob.

Jacob gave up his birthright as I think about my own life I thought about how I almost gave up my birthright when I wanted to commit suicide. Everyday we are faced with opportunities that can cause us to lose our birthright which is our inheritance.

So what is a birthright and what does it mean to be in the wilderness?
Birthright-a right or privilege you are entitled to at birth.

Titus 3:6-7 says whom he poured on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. So our birthright is for us to become heirs with Jesus.

Wilderness-a neglected or abandoned area of a garden or town.

After being tempted in the wilderness if offered a mansion wouldn’t you take it at any cost? But Esau you don’t have to sell your birthright. I am reminded of Jesus when he was tempted in the wilderness.

Matthew 4:1-4 says
Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward he was hungry. Now when the tempter came to him he said, “If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread. But he answered and said, “It is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

Jesus answered with the spirit not the flesh.

We all starve for different things and satan knows what we starve for it could be money, fame, etc. In our modern day society so many have given up their right for fame, popularity, money, and possessions. Let’s be practical would you take a job worth thousands and live comfortably if it was on your day of worship?
Instant gratification but satan knows when to present the opportunity when your starving. When your hormones want more than a kiss when you are low on cash and a lucrative but risky opportunity presents itself.

Don’t give up on God’s blessing for what is in front of you. Esau used his carnal desire but even though God was tempted he used his spiritual strength to say man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.

What are you eating? Are you eating more natural or spiritual food?

Jesus Love you,
xoxo
