When you think of ‘gadgets’ you might instantly think of the kinds of products that appear in Christmas gift guides for men every year. But as it happens us women are pretty obsessed with them ourselves, and there are so many on beauty gadgets on the market now that are nothing short of amazing. While you have to sift your way through a fair bit of crazy, there are some genuinely great ones out there too. Here are five beauty gadgets that you absolutely need in your stash, they’ll make light work of all your beauty ‘chores’ and generally just make your life much easier.
Between a manual and electric toothbrush, the electric is a proven choice in just about every study ever conducted. But so many of us make do with a crappy little manual brush and it just makes no sense. An electric toothbrush can cover a larger area faster, so you clean more of the surface of the teeth in the same amount of time. When you brush by hand, you make about 300 strokes per minute. Compare that to the thousands (in some cases tens of thousands) of strokes per minute an electric one is capable of. There are probably a number of dental hygiene mistakes you’re already making- don’t let this be another.
Face Cleansing Brush
Think your face is clean after you’ve showered? Think again. Makeup, oil, impurities and general gunk lurks deep down in your pores, threatening to clog them up and cause breakouts at any given time. Facial brushes have oscillating heads which deep clean your skin, and removing gunk in a way that manual washing just never could. Great for all skin types, but oiler and spot prone skin will especially benefit. You’re likely to notice clearer, fresher and softer skin.
Hair removal is a necessary evil, it’s never going to be the most fun activity and so you might as well use effective tools that are going to do the job well. An epilator removes hair from the root meaning you get smoother skin for much longer than simply shaving or depilatory cream which only removes hair from the surface. It’s not as painful as you’d probably think and is definitely something you get used to move over time. The more you use an epilator the finer the hair grows back over time too, meaning future removals are quicker and easier!
Gel Nail Dryer

Why spend £20 a month getting your gel nails done at a salon, when you can do them yourself for a fraction of the cost at home? A nail dryer uses LED lights to ‘cure’ gel/ shellac nail polish, giving you perfect long-lasting nails every time. Gel nails last for around two to three weeks before chipping so are great if you don’t have time to be constantly painting your nails. You’ll need a base coat, the gel coloured polish of your choice and a top coat along with your nail dryer. It really is as simple as painting them onto your nails and curing with the nail dryer between each layer. Basically if you can paint your own nails, you can do this no problem.
