    3 Things To Do When You Feel Like Your Life Is Stuck In A Rut

    Do you feel as if your life is stuck in a rut?


    Do you feel like a hamster forever running on an ever-spinning wheel that goes nowhere?


    Is every day the same monotonous, boring grind?


    In short, are you currently stuck in dullsville?


    If so, let’s try to get you out of the rut you are in. There are three things you might want to focus on.


    1. Change your daily routine.


    By taking a few small steps, you might be able to improve your mindset. Examples?


    – Get out of bed earlier and read something inspiring in your Bible, go for a scenic walk, and eat a tastier breakfast.


    – Arrange to meet up with those friends you haven’t seen in ages after work.


    – Do something random, such as going to see a movie or play, or take a drive somewhere new.


    Make some of these things a constant, and your life won’t seem as boring as it might do at the moment. Do whatever fits in with your life; those small changes to your routine that might lift the way you feel.


    1. Pursue your passions


    What excites you? What will give you an added zest for life? What will you find personally rewarding? Think about these things, and then start to put them into practice. Examples?


    – Return to an old hobby and start it up again.


    – Engage in voluntary work, be that helping a charity or improving your church community.


    – Find a new hobby, looking online and at your local community center for ideas.


    – Start a blog, and write about anything that interests you, and communicate with like-minded folks.


    Do anything that will give you renewed vigor in your life. When you start to feel excited about life again, you will have moved out of dullsville and into somewhere new, both mentally and physically!


    1. Set yourself larger goals


    With larger goals in mind, you will have something to look forward to in the future. So, not only will you be out of your rut in the long-term, you might feel better about yourself in the short-term while you’re in the process of change. Examples?


    – Think about changing your career, perhaps into something more rewarding, perhaps in teaching, charity work, something mission-related, or social work with this MSW school online.


    – Start saving up your money for a holiday, perhaps with your dream destination in mind. Or save up your money for something else to brighten up your life, be that a new car, home renovation, or something else that you have long desired.


    And think about other aspects of your future. Where do you want to be? What do you want to do? Don’t procrastinate, but rather take actionable steps to achieve your life’s goals.


    And so…


    We all feel as if our lives are stuck in a rut sometimes, but we don’t have to stay there. Today, start to think about what you can do to get yourself off that hamster wheel. Be it through small or large steps, you can do more with your life. It’s up to you, so start the thinking process now to improve your life tomorrow.

    We’re fast approaching 2019 and many of us are starting to look ahead to the new year. We want to make sure that it is as positive as possible, so it’s not all too surprising that many of us are trying to think up positive resolutions that can impact our life in a beneficial way. Now, generally speaking, people’s resolutions will be small. They might vow to spend a little less time on social media. They might encourage themselves to head to the gym once a week.     Something that we fear as humans is not knowing what the meaning of life is. We don’t know where we came from, or why we are here on earth. That alone makes us wonder, what does our existence really mean to ourselves. If we are just in a line of beings to be born, what makes us special? If we aren’t special, then is there any hope in carrying on? Many relationships that were first spiritual can sometimes go through patches where that magic is gone. It’s actually quite common for spiritual couples to go through the same things couples that aren’t spiritual.     Like all couples are recommended, when you have a big fight you need to give each other space. However when you do, you should spend some time away from them and go to your place of worship without them. Here you will feel as if you can be more honest about your partner without them sitting, standing or kneeling beside you. Ask god questions about your relationship and whether or not your partner is a test that you have the strength to pass. If you are both in tune with each other on this level, you should each be doing the same thing.     You know your body best so listen to it. Resting our body is vital because it gives it time to heal and repair itself. Depending on the season, you may find yourself more tired and exhausted so give your body the sleep it needs instead of depriving it.


    Natural Light


    It seems very simple, but natural light can have a big effect on our mood. If it’s possible, try and get as much natural light during the day as possible. If you struggle to get enough, then there are artificial lights that mimic natural light so these can be great to have in your office or home.


    Get Exercise


    This doesn’t work for everyone but for some, gentle exercise can be a great way of pumping the blood around the body and lifting your mood. Alongside a healthy, balanced diet, your body is then getting all the right vitamins, minerals and exercise it needs to stay healthy.




    Speaking to someone is beneficial in any situation where you don’t feel yourself or if you’re low and upset. Usually, we open up more to a stranger with the experience to help with the worries rather than a family friend or colleague. Counseling is available to anyone who needs it so don’t keep it all bottled up.

    Your health is important, and no job or work is worth poor health. If you’re having a bad day, speak to your company (HR specifically) about taking a mental health day off. It’s great to see more companies taking an active responsibility in keeping employees happy, so don’t be afraid to approach them when you need time off.


    Get More Vitamins


    When it gets dark and the nights draw in earlier, the lack of daylight can play havoc on our mood and state of mind. It’s important that you still get all of those vitamins your body needs and you can do this by taking vitamin tablets or eating foods that contain those vitamins.


    Mental health is still something that for many is difficult to understand or handle. As it’s an invisible illness, it’s hard to spot the signs. Keep care of yourself and don’t forget to reach out to someone if it gets too hard.
