Do not be wise in your own eyes fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. Proverbs 3:7-12
As I thought about this scripture, I thought to myself how many times I took things into my own hands even disputes did I put the argument in God’s hands? I know there were situations in my life when I didn’t listen to God and I did things because it sound or looked good the saying just because it looks good doesn’t mean that its good for us. We can even apply that to food. A piece of chocolate cake tastes better than spinach but which one is good for you? This passage puts me back to the state of mind where every aspect of my life has to reflect God’s decision this includes what you eat, what you wear, how you talk, and how you treat people. This is the only way my life will be pleasing in his sight I challenge you to do the same and see what happens.
The second part of the scriptures say “This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones”.
What is the result of allowing God into every aspect of your life. This will bring health and nourishment to your bones. You won’t be sick this could mean mental, spiritual, and physical sickness.
Jeremiah 30: 12-14, 17
For thus saith the Lord, Thy bruise is incurable, and thy wound is grievous.
13 There is none to plead thy cause, that thou mayest be bound up: thou hast no healing medicines.
14 All thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not; for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of thine iniquity; because thy sins were increased.
For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.
What about wisdom?
Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
And the Lord will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee, but will lay upon all them that hate thee.
God tells us just how valuable and important it is to obtain wisdom. I pray that you seek after wisdom.
