When the Lord began to speak through Hosea, the Lord said to him, “Go take to yourself an adulterous wife and children of unfaithfulness, because the land is guilty of the vilest adultery in departing from the Lord. So he married Gomer daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and bore him a son.Hosea 1:2-3

Would you listen if God told you to go get an adulterous partner? I think this would require obedience to go after such a person think of the ridicule you could face.

As I read Hosea, it reminded me of the love God has for us God was ridiculed, rejected but he did it to save us he was traded by Judas. Hosea had to find his wife and buy her back imagine the shame. God is reminding us that he came down to save us from ourselves.

As Christ has saved us we should be able to go back into the world and save somebody else we shouldn’t feel too high to get our hands dirty. God is saying no matter how far you think you are from him he is closer than you think. He wants us to come back to him with open arms.

God created us. If I created something I would try my best to get it back if it were stolen. If I lost something I seek to find it so much more how a mother and father will search for a missing child.

God loves us with an everlasting love and nothing that you do can come close to God stop loving you. He is your biggest advocate, your biggest provider put down the wrong thinking, wrong motives, wrong actions, stop feeding lying, stealing, materialism, anger but draw close to love, draw close to God walk with him so he can direct your path.

Hosea was a prophet but he didn’t look at his title but humbled himself. Are you a Gomer? I believe in some form I was. I went my own way out of alignment with God’s plan and God brought me back to him. Gomer had a shameful past but was brought to be a wife from a prostitute. How many of us have lived a shameful past but God has turned you into something you didn’t expect? In my own life I felt unworthy, unloved because of the fact that my parents had A.I.D.S., they were alcohol abusers but God has other plans for me just like he has plans for you.

As my title running after what seems wrong running after Gomer may seem foolish but to God it was a mission be careful of thinking we are running after the wrong thing you may just be in alignment with God.

Be Blessed
