If you commit a crime would you then commit another to end back up in jail?
Galatians 5:1
“Standfast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage”
You committed a crime you went to jail you served time. Would you do another crime to end up back in prison? In Christianity, God has set us free but why do we go back in bondage? The reality is that many people do end back up in prison because they say they have no way out. But you do have a choice to either do something that will not make you go back to prison or keep doing the same things.
Christ has set us free
I thought about this prison scenario when I thought about Christ setting us free. Christ paid his life so that we no longer have to be bound but so many of us have still chosen to go back to prison. What causes you to go to jail? Disobeying the law. The government has its set of laws. What causes you to go to spiritual jail disobeying God’s word. In both instances in order to stay out of jail you have to obey the law. How do you disobey God? Galatians 5:19 tells you that sexual immortality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkeness, wild parties but in order to stay out of spiritual bondage or jail have love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
You Chose
You can decide to either go back in bondage or you can be free in Christ. Which one will you decide?
