How to nourish your mind, body and soul

{Source}

What is nourishment? According to Webster, it is the food or other substances necessary for growth, health and good condition. How do we nourish our mind, how do we nourish our body and how do we nourish our soul? By the end I hope you will have an understanding of how to do these things.

We begin with the scripture from Roman 12:2, “And be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

Why does God tell us to renew our minds, because he knows we have evil thoughts and those evil thought can turn into evil actions. I was delivered from suicide but let me tell you how it began I told myself I am unworthy of living, I am useless in this world, I mean nothing to no one and the evil action that followed was trying to jump from my 13 story window. The person in the Bible that showed me how to renew my mind was Paul and he said is Roman 7:15, “For that which I do allow not for what I would that do I not but what I hate that I do.”

                                        We are in constant struggle with our spirit and our flesh

How do we renew our minds? Your thoughts have to become aligned with God’s. There was a time i wanted to become an exotic dancer but by renewing my mind I understood that lifestyle was not in alignment with God’s.

How about the body? According to 1 Corinthians 6:19 it says, What? know ye that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God and ye are not your own? I don’t know about you but I have noticed that in church they stress fornication, drinking, smoking, adultery and modest dressing but what if I don’t drink or smoke but think that drinking water and eating vegetables are for fools. This is from something that I read recently from 3abn, God populated the earth with vegetables of all kinds so that humans would live a long healthy life. Satan created the double cheeseburger and said you want fries with that humans said super size it, God created running shoes and Satan brought cable television, remote control and potato chips. Satan saw this and said this is good they will die earlier than expected. This may sound funny but I have been at more funerals in my church body than baptisms from church dying from cancer.

       Beloved I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper in health even as thy soul prospereth

If your body is the temple of God it must be clean in all aspects you can no longer say its my lungs I will smoke if I want, its my stomach I will eat what I want. So we should fight against anything that makes us unhealthy if overeating makes us unhealthy fight it by the Spirit. If laziness and lack of exercise makes us unhealthy fight it with the power of the Holy Spirit.

In my own research about the soul I came across a book called Soul Keeping by John Ortberg he says that the soul is the capacity to integrate all the parts into a single whole life. When you are connected with God you have a healthy soul. Your soul has needs, desires and wants and if not careful you can connect to the wrong things thus dishonoring God.

What does a healthy soul look like?
1.) One that is able to say yes or no without anxiety
2.) One that speaks with confidence and honesty
3.) One that sees without judging
4.) One that loves God

I would like for you to remember you are the salt of the world you are the light when unbelievers see your lights will it be dim of bright? Will Jesus hardly be seen in you? Will the salt you provide have little taste? God cares about every aspect of your lives I have even learned to pray to God about the condition of my hair. There is nothing too small to talk to God about. So ladies I challenge you not with ice but with love to nourish your mind, body and soul.

xoxo,
