  1. New everything, new shoes, new hairdo, new clothes, new backpack.
  2. Get a feel for your teachers. Learn what makes them happy or angry.
  3. Stand on long lines for bus pass
  4. Scope out who you never saw last year.
  5. Reestablish old friendships
  6. Check out potential boyfriends.
