Family Dollar Fabulous Recap

The Second Annual Family Dollar Fabulous held on Friday, October 17 at the Hilton Midtown in New York City was an extraordinary way to celebrate African-American women by highlighting how inner beauty, when combined with unique features, skin tones, and hairstyles, translated to fabulous, fantastic, and fashionable looks for less. Actress Vanessa Williams returned for the second consecutive year as the event spokesperson in which leading beauty brands conducted interactive beauty sessions with their products amid champagne toasts, belly dancing lessons, gourmet cupcakes, signature cocktails, henna tattoo applications, and more! A virtual who’s who of the beauty and fashion industry attended the red carpet event that included Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Cynthia Bailey; Celebrity Stylist to First Lady Michelle Obama, Johnny Wright; Lifetime TV’s Girlfriend Intervention reality TV star, Tracy Balan; Co-creator of The Lipstick Junkies, Africa Miranda; Celebrity stylist to Oprah, Pat Grant Williams, among others.

The Fabulous Faces of Family Dollar

The VIP bloggers & vloggers at the event, aka Faces of Fabulous, received swag bags, gift cards, an in-store shopping experience, and photo opps with industry insiders. The Faces of Fabulous national ad campaign was also unveiled at the event and was just another way Family Dollar connected with its important African-American women customers. The evening concluded with a sneak peek of Family Dollar’s “Just Be…” fashion line that will launch in spring 2015. This inside look included a runway show with our Faces of Fabulous donning “Just Be…” clothing and a walk down the catwalk. Family Dollar offers top notch beauty and hair products in its more than 8,100 stores across the U.S. to provide women an affordable way to connect their amazing inner outer beauty.

My experience

It is now November 1st and I am still smiling. I had a truly fabulous time hanging with the one and only Vanessa Williams, Michelle Obama Hair Stylist Mr. Johnny Wright and of course my lovely fabulous lady Vloggers of Family Dollar. It was awesome meeting fellow bloggers and networking with the top brands in hair care.
