Look and Feel Like The Best Version of ‘You’

Looking good on the outside can give us the confidence we need to feel happy on the inside, and to go out there and achieve our goals. But with busy lifestyles, it’s easy to get into a rut with our appearance. If you’re currently a bit down about how you look, here are a few things to try to get you feeling fab again.

Change Up Your Outfits

Maybe you’re in a rut with buying and wearing the same types of clothes. Perhaps you ‘dress for comfort’ on more days than you’d like. Wearing clothes that empower you, flatter your figure and make you feel good will give you no end of confidence. Go into a shop and try on clothes that you wouldn’t usually, you might be surprised. Maybe add a splash of colour to your wardrobe, you could do this with brightly coloured accessories if you didn’t want to dive straight in with bold clothing items. But choose things that you like and make you feel happy.

Get a New Hairstyle

Had the same hairstyle since college? Maybe you left your experimental hair days back in your teens, but it doesn’t have to be like that. Try something new- a different length (you could go shorter or get extensions) try a different colour or even have a fringe cut in. Research different styles online and find something that you really love. You could choose a tone that compliments your skin and eye colour, or go all out with something bold and vibrant or even a pastel shade. Whatever is it, if it’s going to make you happy then take the plunge!

 

Shed Any Excess Weight

Not only is this good for your health, but losing excess weight will give you so much more confidence too. Your clothes will fit better, you’ll feel fitter and more energised and well on your way to becoming the best version of yourself. A healthy, varied and balanced diet with regular exercise is your path to good health, but a good weight loss plan can help to kick start this in the early days. Improve Your Skincare Routine

As we get a bit older the needs of our skin changes. From your early twenties, start a good routine focused on preventing ageing. By the time you reach your thirties and beyond you’ll thank yourself for it! It doesn’t have to be complicated, a day and night moisturiser, an eye cream, a lip balm and a nourishing treatment such as a facial oil will give your skin everything it needs. Work out if your skin is dry, oily or a combination of both and choose your skincare products accordingly. If you’re not sure, treat yourself to a facial at a salon. They’ll be able to let you know as well as pamper your skin with some gorgeous products!

Finally, while looking good on the outside can give you a huge confidence boost- true peace and serenity comes from within. While there are things you can do to look your best, accepting that you will probably never see yourself as ‘perfect’ and being able to let go of that will allow you to be happy and confident in your looks. Focus on the things that you do like about yourself.  Practice mindful thinking, meditate regularly and do everything you can to eliminate stress from your life. This will allow you to feel happy and peaceful on the inside.
