We are in a unprecedented time in our history. We are dealing with so many things at one time. We have to deal with COVID-19 and the death of George Floyd by racist police officers. As Christians we have to remember as hard as it is that this is not our home. We have to believe that God is still in control. I must admit that I have had my share of uncertainty and anxiety but I was beginning to focus on the things that was going on around me and not on the promises of God.
When I received this book “Moving Beyond Anxiety” it was absolute perfect timing. Anxiety, stress, anguish are seeking to rule over God’s people but Chadwick reminds us where the root of anxiety comes from.
He gives 12 practical strategies to renew your mind and help you overcome the fear and worry that seems to plague many:
The 12 strategies are:
Focus on Faith
Ponder the Prepositions
Remember Your Body
Develop an Eternal Perspective
Get Good Teammates
Realize God Did Not Give You A Spirit of Fear
Spirit of Fear
This book is a great reminder on how to renew your mind. My favorite quotes is “Your anxieties will become increasingly smaller as you place them next to God’s promises”.
